John Leo Price

HOWARD — John Leo Price, 79, of Courtland Drive, Howard, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Country Club Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.

He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Cleveland to the late Leo John and Martha Bertha (Markert) Price. John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 37 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.

He is survived by his wife, Sue (Jurgens) Price; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Price of Bellville and Eduard Allen (Michele) Price of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Lisa Fortuna of Willowick; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Price of Longs, S.C.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Heil) Price; and three sisters, Laverne Smolinski, Dorothy Petricy and Lois Polke.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 307 S. Market St., Danville, OH 43014, with the Rev. F. Richard Snoke as celebrant. A private burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
