Hoy R. Young
FREDERICKTOWN — Hoy Richard Young, 74, of Colony Drive, Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon following a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Fredericktown, a son of the late Hoy C. and Leona (Reed) Young. Hoy retired from Rolls-Royce in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown and was an avid NASCAR fan. Hoy was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict.
Hoy is survived by his loving wife, Kay (Algire) Young, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1953; a son, Ronald (Rebecca) Young of Miamisburg; a daughter, Deborah Hill of Blacklick; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison Young and Trey Hill; a brother, Karl Young of Colonial Heights, Va.; a sister, Geraldine Cook of Madison, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Hoy was preceded in death by a son, Mark Young; and a sister, Jean Levering.
The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown, with Pastor Mary Miller officiating.
