Elizabeth ‘Cindy’ Stillwagon

MOUNT VERNON — Elizabeth Lucinda “Cindy” Stillwagon, 60, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus following an extended illness.

Cindy was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Mount Vernon, was a 1965 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and had attended airline flight attendant school in Columbus. She spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area, where she had been employed by the Mount Vernon City Schools for many years as an administrative assistant for several different departments. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her husband, William L. “Bill” Stillwagon, whom she married Aug. 19, 1972; her mother, Jeannette (Wolf) Columber of Mount Vernon; her brother, William “Bill” (Sarah) Columber of Mount Vernon; mother-in-law, Celesta “Dutch” Falter of Mount Vernon; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Dave) Gorsuch of Mount Vernon; her nephews, Isaiah Columber and Zach Gorsuch; a niece, Chelsey Denhart of Mount Vernon; and Cindy’s canine companion, Rusty.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Columber; maternal grandparents, Lester and Gertrude Wolf; and paternal grandparents, Earnest and Lillian Columber.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A service celebrating the life of Cindy Stillwagon will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Mark Wildermuth officiating. Private burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
