NEWARK — A funeral service for May Priest, 82, of Newark will be Monday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, with Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
May died July 2, 2008, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark.
She was born May 18, 1926, in Martinsburg to the late Fred and Beatrice (Rine) Peters. May was employed by Watts Restaurant, Utica, for 42 years.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Steve F. Salyers and fiancee Dottie Shephard of Nashport, Bob and Maria Salyers of Newark, Doug Priest of Buckeye Lake; stepson, Roy Priest of Comer, Ga.; daughters and son-in-law, Dianna (Salyers) and Roger Bailey of St. Louisville, Anita (Salyers) Richey of Newark; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Marilyn Peters of Newark; sisters, Dottie Richards, Lucille Coss, Carolyn Williams, all of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin L. Priest, who passed away in 1989, and Reece F. Salyers, who passed away in 2000; one grandson; brothers, Kenneth and Paul Peters; and sister, Betty Jatczak.
