Marjorie A. Doolittle

MOUNT VERNON — Marjorie Ann Doolittle, 96, died July 13, 2008, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. Marjorie lived her life with love for the Lord and she is now home with her Lord, there to claim her mansion in Heaven. She will be forever with the Lord and her many friends and family members.

Marjorie was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Pickaway County to James and Verna (Hawn) White. She was one of seven children, four brothers and two sisters. She came to Millwood from Pickaway County in the 1930s to help care for her grandfather. There she met and married Ralph Doolittle. They had two daughters, M. Jane Neiderhouser and Susan Heuss. Marjorie was not a member of groups or organizations, however she was a 70-year member of the Millwood Church of Christ. The church she loved. For the past six years she had not been able to attend due to failing health. Marjorie had worked at Spearman’s Restaurant in Millwood for many years, then for Lakeview Haven Nursing Home. In her 70s and 80s, she cared for family and friends who needed help living independently. She was always there to give her best to all.

Surviving are her daughter, M. Jane Neiderhouser, her children, Amy (Lewis) Vargo, their children, Beth and Brad; J. Andrew (Haley) Neiderhouser, their children, Zachary, Jacob, Katana, Kayla and Andrew; Erin (Joe) Creeden, their children, Spencer and Carter; Laurie (Matt) Waddell, their son, Tyson. All of Jane’s family lives in the Marion area. Also surviving are her daughter, Susan (Paul) Heuss of Fredericktown; her children, Jennifer (Mike) Teet, their sons, Jared and Joshua of Mount Vernon; Mollie Wise of Columbus. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Doolittle; a grandson, Christopher Wise; a son-in-law, William Neiderhouser; four brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Gene Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Workman Cemetery at Danville.
