Donald L. Winbigler
ASHLAND — Donald LaMoyne Winbigler, 79, formerly of Jeromesville died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Samaritan Regional Health Systems.
He was born July 14, 1928, in Jeromesville, the son of Boyd and Clara Weimer Winbigler. He graduated from Jeromesville High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean conflict. He was co-owner and operator of Winbigler Lumber for 25 years and was a member of the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Ashland.
He is survived by a daughter, Selora (Lee) Schlingman of Ashland; three sons, Doug (Kelly) Winbigler of Galena, David (Deborah) Winbigler of Louisville, Ky., and Stanton Winbigler of Ashland; 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Sarah and Daniel Schlingman, Krista, Jessica, Joshua, McKenzie, Mary Kate, John, Tarah and Eric Winbigler; a great-grandson, Soren Schlingman; and a sister, Phyliss (Kenneth) Wise of Jeromesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Joan (Colopy) Winbigler, on April 11, 2002.
Services will be Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Cassidy officiating. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call Tuesday, July 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville.
