Troy E. Wheelen
MARENGO — Troy Eugene Wheelen, 73, of Marengo peacefully went to join his beloved wife Marcia for a walk in God’s eternal gardens on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Morrow Manor in Chesterville.
He was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Belfast, Ohio, to the late Homer and Mary (Griffith) Wheelen. A 1935 graduate of Hillsboro High School, he worked many years at Frigid Foods. Later in life he graduated with a certificate in occupational therapy. He worked with the elderly until he retired and became the caregiver for his wife, Marcia (McCarty) Wheelen, until she passed away on Sept. 15, 2005.
He is survived by daughters, Pandora S. (Richard) Logsdon of Middletown, Diana M. Wheelen of Topsail, N.C., and Mary A. (Paul) Thompson of Fayetteville N.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Butter Cemetery, Marengo, with the Rev. Beverly Hall officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo.
