Rexford L. Marmet
GLENMONT — Rexford “Rex” L. Marmet, 59, of Glenmont died Wednesday evening, July 16, 2008, surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, with Pastor Ed Stivers officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
He was born April 24, 1949, in Millersburg and was the son of Frank and Dorothy (Owen) Marmet. Rex was a 1967 graduate of West Holmes High School. He played semi-pro football, softball and raced motorcycles. He worked 33 years for Timken Steel in Wooster, retiring in 1999. He was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. He rarely could drive past a yard sale or an auction without stopping.
Left to mourn his passing are children, Rexford L. (Jennifer) Marmet Jr. of Glenmont, Karen (Darrell) Hood of Glenmont, Charlie (Shelley) Marmet of Apple Valley, Howard, and Mindy Marmet of Glenmont. Also surviving are his grandsons, Travis, Brady and Brendon Hood, and Gage and Jack Marmet; his mother, Dorothy Dial of Glenmont; a sister, Penny (Joe) Weaver of Big Prairie; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Marmet; a brother, Sam Dial; and stepfather, Bob Dial.
