Eileen H. Bennett

MOUNT VERNON — Eileen H. Bennett, 83, of Mount Vernon went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon surrounded by her family.

She was born March 20, 1925, in Beverly, Ohio, to the late Rudy and Cora (West) Henderson. Mrs. Bennett retired in 1991 after 23 years of employment in the library of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, William Bennett; two sons, William Bennett Jr. of Mount Vernon, Randall (Cynthia) Bennett of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Mary (Steve) Weber of Scottsdale, Ariz., Carol (Peter) Larson of Arlington Heights, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bonnie Rogers and Erich Wald.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Revs. Jack Archer and Russell Downs will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
