Ralph E. Piar
MOUNT VERNON — Ralph E. Piar, 75, of Weaver Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the Summerville at HillenVale in Mount Vernon.
He was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Knox County to the late Oscar Albert and Mary Alta (Frazee) Piar. Ralph worked 18 years for Cooper Energy Services and retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of Franklin University in Columbus. Ralph was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
He is survived by three sons, Barry (Christine) Piar of Lewis Center, Roger (Debi) Piar of Pickerington, Neil Piar of Upper Arlington; a granddaughter, Caley Piar; six brothers, Ronald (Jean) Piar, Donald (Carrie) Piar, John (Phyllis) Piar, all of Mount Vernon, Charles Piar of Glenn Heights, Texas, Glenn (Maude) Piar of Medina, James (Nancy Raines) Piar of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Helen (John) Phillips of Mount Vernon.
Besides his parents Ralph was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Piar, Rodney Piar; and an infant sister.
The family will observe a private memorial service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ralph Piar.
