Carter E. Looney

FREDERICKTOWN — Carter E. Looney, 70, of Mulberry Street, Fredericktown, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1938, to Marjorie A. (Adkins) and Thomas G. Looney. He was retired from the J.B. Foote Foundry Co. in Fredericktown after 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, June (Cheuvront) Looney of Fredericktown; sons, Thomas (Carol) Looney of Danville, Robert (Melissa) Looney of Howard and James Looney of the home; a daughter, Marjorie (Jimmy) Stamp of Mount Vernon; brothers, Chet (Mary Jo) of Danville, Ron (Kelley) of Howard and Carl (Kayleen) Looney of Butler; sisters, Phoebe Schoonover of Virginia, Wanda (Gordon) Cole of Mount Vernon, May (Don) Mowery of Danville and Mary (Ralph) Colopy of Georgia; grandchildren, Kyle (Bessie) Cline, Kreig Cline, Tommy Looney, Cody Edmundson, Emma and Austin Looney, Emily Pew, Hayden Looney and Jada Stamp, a great-grandchild, Lane Cline; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clif and Curt Looney; and his first wife, Wava Looney.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Monte Vance will officiate. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
