Mary F. Davidson
MOUNT VERNON — Mary F. Davidson, 81, of Mount Vernon died July 30, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Ashtabula to Nelson A. and Marie (Rohl) Fountain. Mary graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA in English. She taught for 30 years freshman and senior English at Highland Local Schools. Mary was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed driving her 2001 green Mustang, reading, watching tennis and playing golf.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Vicki) Davidson of Caledonia, Donald R. Davidson of Mount Vernon and Thomas H. (Lora) Davidson of Fletcher, N.C.; one sister, Jeanette Sidley of Michigan; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert E. Davidson, in 1972.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. at Marengo Cemetery with the Rev. Mark J. Hammond officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Processing Center, P.O. Box 8958, Topeka, KS 66608-8958; or to American Diabetes Association, Attention Memorial Program, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
