DELAWARE — Alice MacBlane, 96, of Delaware, formerly of Sunbury, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Country View of Sunbury.
She was born Sept. 7, 1911, in Prairie County, Ark., to the late John B. and Ollie M. (Randolph) Sweet. Originally from Columbus, she moved to Sunbury/Galena area in 1958 and to Delaware in 1996.
She is survived by daughters, Janet (Jim) Thatcher of Sunbury and Shirley (Robert) Schontzler of Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren, Colleen Stambaugh, Stephen Thatcher and Bradd Skinner; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jesse A. MacBlane; her twin brother, Alonzo Sweet; and sisters, Dorothy Ishler, Elsie Stevens, Pauline Johnson, Elford Alexander and Ruby Sweet.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m., Michael D. Bratten, minister, officiating. Interment will be Sunbury Memorial Park.
