MOUNT VERNON — Betty Lou Gordon, 80, of Miller Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.
She was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Columbus to the late Sanford Roy and Hazel (Keagy) Wiggins. Betty was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary 760 Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Mount Vernon. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting, bead jewelry and arranging artificial flowers.
She is survived by three daughters, Frieda (Robert) Norris of Mount Vernon, Carla Gordon of Mount Vernon and Rebecca (William) Smith of Longwood, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Louise Castor of Bellville.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Whitey” Gordon; two sons, Kevin Gordon and Keith Gordon; and two brothers, Kenneth Wiggins and Frederick Wiggins.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
