Frances B. Mallow

MOUNT VERNON — A graveside service for Frances B. Mallow, 82, of Mount Vernon will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Cemetery, Newark, with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating.

Mrs. Mallow, a principal and school teacher for Big Walnut Local Schools in Sunbury, died Aug. 30, 2008, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She was born Oct. 13, 1925, in Galena to the late Marie G. Burt and J. Paul Brown.

Frances was a graduate of North High School in Columbus and a 1967 graduate of Otterbein College. She earned her master’s degree in education from the La Verne College at The Ohio State University.

Surviving are her sister, Margaret Brown Miskimen of Mount Vernon; and nieces Margie C. Gerczak of Livonia, Mich., and Sally Simpson Johnson of Granville and Lady Lake, Fla.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burley C. Mallow, whom she married June 1, 1946.
