MOUNT VERNON — Eileen V. Clark, 85, of Mount Vernon went home to be with Jesus on Sept. 17, 2008, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Eileen was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Knox County to John L. and Goldie (Poulton) Daniels and was raised in Wayne Township near Fredericktown. Eileen received her training as a registered nurse at White Cross Nursing School in Columbus from 1942 to 1945. She was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital and Martin Memorial Hospital in Mount Vernon from 1945 until 1949, and then attended Asbury College in Kentucky from 1949 to 1951. She was then employed as an industrial nurse for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Mount Vernon for five years; and then as the industrial nurse for the Continental Can Co. in Mount Vernon for over 21 years, retiring in 1986.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald A. Daniels of Eastlake, John C. Clark and D. Bruce (Deborah) Clark, both of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Angelene (Mike) Small and Jessica Clark; three great-grandchildren, Alexander Small and Amber Small and Ethan Clark; and her sister, Dorothy E. (Rev. Bob) Linter of Lebanon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, L. David Clark; and her brother, Harold Daniels.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
