John T. Cramer

MOUNT VERNON — The Rev. John Thomas Cramer, 84, Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital.

Mr. Cramer was born July 31, 1924, in Newark to Herbert Lynn and Eva Lucinda (Peabody) Cramer. He was a graduate of Newark High School and earned an associate degree in the Army Air Force. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He retired from the B&O Railroad. John was an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Marie (Adams) Cramer; daughters, Toni Ann (Roy) Star and Jane Louise Ables, both of Mount Vernon, Karen Lynn (James) Duffy of Pataskala; son, Thomas Andrew Cramer of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters.

A graveside service, with military honors conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown, with the Rev. Julian Eibin presiding. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is assisting with funeral arrangements.
