Terence J. Brille

MOUNT VERNON — Terence J. Brille, 87, of New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born May 5, 1921, in Hancock County, Ohio, a son of the late Ferdinand V. and Mary C. (Terry) Brille. Terence was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in forestry. In 1947, he obtained an MBA degree from the University of Michigan. While attending college, Terence was the United States Collegiate Boxing Champion for his weight class. Terence was an Army Air Corps veteran during World War II where he was a navigator. Terence was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and he was also an independent contractor in forestry management.

Terence is survived by a brother, Bernard J. Brille of Sarasota, Fla.; and several close friends in Mount Vernon.

Visitation for Terence will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where Rosary services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Mark J. Hammond as the celebrant. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lockbourne with the Rev. Ted Thomas.
