MOUNT VERNON — Phyllis Maxine Blubaugh, 78, Mount Vernon passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born June 26, 1930, in Mount Vernon to the late John and Fern Beatrice (Zimmerman) Hardesty. Phyllis was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars of Mount Vernon and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, James Kenneth (Gwen) Blubaugh of Utica; a daughter, Pamela (John) Neighbarger of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Michael (Nanette) Neighbarger, Mark (Rosa) Neighbarger, Dawn (Ron) Ringenbach, Andrew (Jackie) Neighbarger, Joshua (Jennifer Hardwick) Blubaugh; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Dawson and Wesley Neighbarger, Trinity and Chandler Blubaugh; two sisters, Anna Beckholt of Mount Vernon and Roberta Martin of Utica.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Blubaugh; and a sister, Bonnie Wilson.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
