MOUNT VERNON — Daniel W. Dibble, 64, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Dan was born April 20, 1944, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Floyd and Virginia (Elderkin) Dibble. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and had been employed at Power and Control Systems (PACS) in Mount Vernon. Dan enjoyed surfing the Internet and spending time at The Station Break.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (McElroy) Dibble; his son, Jerry Dibble of Gahanna; stepson, Terry (Denette) Stringer of Florence, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Sherrie (Steve) Doane of Fredericktown; eight stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; his brother, David (Maureen) Dibble of Jamestown, N.Y.; and his sister, Dorothy Rudd of Jamestown, N.Y.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Diane Dibble. Please remember Dan as someone who never met a stranger.
According to Dan’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours or services.
A special thank you to Dan’s sister-in-law, Linda Legros, for all of her help and assistance during Dan’s surgeries and hospitalizations over the past five years.
