FREDERICKTOWN — Richard R. “Dick” Hines, 74, of Pinkley Road, Fredericktown, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008.
He was born June 5, 1934, in Rochester, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Carrie (Brockway) Hines. Dick was employed as a truck driver and worked for many companies here in Ohio and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the Brandon Baptist Church and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Helen (Hyatt) Hines; two daughters, Rannay (Don) Cline of Fredericktown and Traci (Richard) Rush of Jeromesville; three sons, Scott (Tracy) Hines of Fredericktown, Dennis (Kim) Hines of Shelby and Bill Hines of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hines.
Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 2, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown with the service following at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will be held at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
