FREDERICKTOWN — James Howard “Butch” Dean Jr., 59, of County Road 181, Fredericktown, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 24, 1949, in West Virginia to the late James “Jimmy” Dean Sr. and Frieda (Gillespie) Dean. James owned RG Dean and Sons.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Roxanne (Payne) Dean; his children, Chasity Dean of Granville, James Howard Dean III of Fredericktown, Mindy Durbin of Delaware, Chelsa Durbin of Fredericktown, David (Kim) Davis of Howard, L/Cpl Sonny (Sara) Dean of Columbus and Koury Dean of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Emmalee Dean, Alysa Durbin, Dominick McFarland, Koury Dean Jr., Kloe Dean, Skylar Davis, Trista Davis and Marcie Davis; two brothers, Larry Dean of Alabama, Johnny Dean of Grove City; and two sisters, Barbara (Gary) Sheneman and Sherry Dean, both of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Monday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mound View Cemetery.
