NEWARK — A funeral service for Ronald Lee “Ron” Staugh, 52, of Newark, will be held Monday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Ron passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1956, in Newark to John N. and the late Waunita D. (Fry) Staugh.

Ron graduated from Utica High School in 1974 and was the class president. He enjoyed the outdoors especially agriculture as he worked on various farms as a farm hand. Ron had a passion for John Deere tractors and attended many tractor pulls at county fairs. He was a member of Chatham United Methodist Church and will always be remembered for his sampling of many individuals cooking. Ron had a long battle with kidney failure and diabetes.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Kimberly, of 14 years; sons, Scott Staugh and Eric Staugh, both of Newark; grandsons, Nathan and Michael; brothers, Lloyd Staugh of Texas and Larry (Kris) Staugh of Utica; and numerous cousins.

Friends may call Sunday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 59 N. Fifth St., Newark.
