Bonnie Jean Doup

FREDERICKTOWN — Bonnie Jean Doup, 67, of Fredericktown, formerly of Lore City and Mount Vernon, passed away Jan. 1, 2009, after a brief illness.

Bonnie was passionate about her children and grandchildren. She always maintained an unselfish concern for others in their time of need. Bonnie enjoyed her family get-togethers, traveling and visiting with friends. Bonnie was taken from us too young and will be terribly missed by her family, friends and especially her loving husband, Richard.

Bonnie leaves her loving husband of 46 years, Richard Doup; three children, Anita (Kim) Doup-Smith of Gaylord, Mich., Suzanne (Todd) Mackey of Manhatten Beach, Calif., and Michael (Meghan) Doup of Lakewood, Ohio; six grandchildren; two half brothers, Shawn and Chris of Florida; and a father-in-law, Homer Doup of Mount Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Conard and Rita Heighton; and a mother-in-law, Irene Doup.

A memorial Mass will be said for Bonnie on Jan. 10 at the 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 303 E. High St., Mount Vernon. Following the Mass, a Remembrance Wake will be at Bonnie’s home, 20279 Shaffer Road, Fredericktown, at 5:30 p.m. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral service for the Doup family.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in Bonnie’s name to go to Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Denison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201; or the charity of one’s choice.
