DANVILLE — Iva Mae Payne, 74, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009.

She was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Nunda to Dwight S. and Mary Elizabeth (Minard) Turney. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Alvey Harold Payne of Danville, whom she married on July 26, 1952; a brother, Glen W. (Gretchen) Turney of Mount Vernon; sons, Timothy (Mary) Payne of Howard and Richard (Julia) Payne of Glenmont; daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Colopy of Danville and Laura (Phil) Mickley of Wooster; grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Payne of Howard, Kristin (Tim) Allerding of Howard, Dr. Becky Payne of Charleston, S.C., Steve Payne of Howard, Matt Payne of Toledo, Ryan and Brad Colopy of Danville, and Taylor, Maegan and Josh Mickley of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Spencer and Wesley Payne of Howard; a special friend, Kay Waren; and the Heartland Hospice nurses.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Danville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Doug Sweet will officiate. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the church today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
