Doris Pauline Beal

January 7, 2009

MOUNT VERNON — Doris Pauline Beal, 85, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

Doris, known as Pauline by her family and friends, was born April 4, 1923, to Willard and Nellie (Robinson) Groff. Pauline was very blessed. She was a breast cancer survivor of 41 years.

Pauline was graduated from Union High School in 1941 and later graduated from Mansfield Business College. She spent 10 years working for the Tappan Stove Co. She then went to work at Barnes Manufacturing Co. for 10 more years.

In 1951, Pauline married Dennis F. Beal and moved into a home they had built together in Mansfield. They lived there together for 55 years. They enjoyed one another and loved being together.

Pauline loved to talk to people, attend church, travel with Den and she was known for being a hard worker.

She faithfully attended several churches over the years, but was most recently attending McElroy Road Church of Christ in Mansfield.

Pauline had a very loving and giving heart, especially for her two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Evan. We will miss her terribly, but we are thankful that she will be in her heavenly home with her husband and Savior.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Anita Beal of Howard; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Evan Beal; a sister, Kathryn L. Fike of West Chester, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; three nephews; and one niece.

The family will remember Pauline’s life with private funeral services with the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kids ‘n Kamp (an organization supporting children diagnosed with cancer), 3440 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43202; and may be made through the funeral home Snyder Funeral Home, P.O. Box 338, Bellville, OH 44813. Condolences are encouraged, and may be made to the Beal Family by visiting www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
