NEWARK — A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home for Archie Israel Jr., 71, of Newark. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Mitchell officiating.
Archie was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Grundy, Va., to the late Archie and Bunie (Carty) Israel. He died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Licking Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Judith; sons, Mark Israel, Todd (Cheryl) Chatterton and Rick (Rockie) Chatterton; daughters, Shelby Blue (Brian Osborn) and Shelly (Jack) Sattelmyer; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Israel; sisters, Dorothy Stewart, Audrey Ball, Lois (Arvil) Justice, Neda (Ernie) Delpino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Archie loved country and western music, especially Buck Owens and Gene Watson, worked at the Limited and was a member of AA.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dang and his staff at Licking Memorial Hospital for their loving care.
