MANSFIELD — Blanche Smith, 72, of Mansfield died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2009, in her home following a long illness.

She was born April 16, 1936, in Logan, W.Va., to Walter and Gwendolyn Rose. Blanche worked at the former Pace Manufacturing and for Therm-O-Disc.

She is survived by her husband, Dairl Smith; a son, Dairl Smith Jr.; daughters, Debbie (Dave) Marler and Brenda Gordon; three grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Elaine) Rose; a sister-in-law, Marge Owens; her friend and caregiver, Deanna Tillman; friend, Penny Webb; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gordon; sisters, Ann (Gus) Diehm, Goldie Sexton; a brother, Lee Rose.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave., where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jack Tackett will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
