SUNBURY — Betty N. Geddis, 88, of Sunbury died Jan. 15, 2009, at Feridean Commons near Westerville.
She was born May 11, 1920, near Olive Green to the late Otis and Florence (Carpenter) Saunders. After 34 years as a machine operator, she retired from Nestlé’s. Betty married Rolland Geddis on Oct. 22, 1942, and he preceded her in death March 16, 2007.
She is survived by sister, Beth Edwards; brother, Otis E. Saunders; sisters-in-law, Norma Geddis, Gloria Saunders; nieces, Karen Bailes and Cheryl Salyers, both of whom she thought of as her own daughters, Becky Price, Mary Jo Estep; nephews, Roger McNamee, Steve Edwards, Jack Saunders, Gary Edwards; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; special friends, Jim and Fawnetta Cantrell, Roger and Bonnie Higgins.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, where service will be Monday at 11 a.m. with Chaplin Norman Moxley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunbury Memorial Park.
