SUNBURY — Jack G. Hamon, 80, of Sunbury died Jan. 15, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Dearborn, Ind., to the late Arthur and Mary Myrtle (Shadd) Hamon. He retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Sunbury.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet; sons, Doug Hamon and David Hamon; stepson, Kyle Kahrmann; stepdaughter, Katrina Hartings; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Loren, Don and Wayne; sisters, Louise Enoch and Jean Johnson; sister-in-law, Rose Hamon.
He was preceded in death by son, Jeff; brothers, Glenn and Bob.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church, 15370 Merideth State Road, Sunbury, where service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bob Riggs officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at a later date in the Sunbury Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
