DES PERES, Mo. — Catherine Conway Hinds of Des Peres, Mo., passed away Jan. 2, 2009, in Des Peres, Mo.
The funeral service was Jan. 8 in Sullivan, Mo., officiated by the Rev. Dennis Zacheis.
Catherine was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Mount Vernon, and was raised by her grandparents, Bill and Kate Conway, and uncle Conard J. Conway. She graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in 1954 and was a four-year cheerleader and while in high school worked for the nuns in the old Mercy Hospital. After high school, she moved to California and raised five daughters and one son who still survive, along with a brother, Tom Williamson. She started and had a very successful business.
She had homes in California and Missouri, and is survived by loving husband, Edward Hinds. Surviving her in Mount Vernon are her uncle, big brother, Conard “Dude” Conway, and her longtime childhood friend and classmate, co-cheerleaders graduating from St. Vincent de Paul School in 1954, her best friend, Barbara Flynn.
Catherine’s mother, Pauline Conway Williamson, died at an early age; and her sister, Carolyn Simpson, passed away in 2006.
