MOUNT VERNON — Edward F. Humbert, 69, of Newcastle Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.
He was born March 23, 1939, in Mount Vernon to the late Robert B. “Red” and Ina (Hoagland) Humbert. Edward was employed as a forklift operator for Coopers here in Mount Vernon from which he retired. He was an Eagle Scout and was a Boy Scout Leader for numerous years. He enjoyed having friends and family at his home for campouts in his back yard along the Kokosing River.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Glen) Goodwin of Mount Vernon; a grandson, Jay Goodwin; a brother, Joseph (Barbara Brasseur) Humbert of Mount Vernon; and a sister, Virginia (Ronald) Linson of Mount Vernon.
Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Jones; and a very special aunt, Elenore Durbin.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Thursday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
