HOWARD — James C. “Satch” Simpson, 67, of East Street, Howard, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.
He was born March 21, 1941, in Mount Vernon to Harold and Eva (Landis) Simpson. Jim worked as a farmer and heavy equipment operator in Knox County. He enjoyed taking care of his animals.
He is survived by his father; a son, James “Mitch” (Susie) Simpson of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Jaime (Rick) Muck of Howard; three grandchildren, Dayna Muck, Austin Muck and Noah Muck; a brother, Jerry (Karen) Simpson of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Joan (Gary) Davidson and Judy (Gil) Riley, both of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his brother, Jan Simpson; and the mother of his daughter, Barbara (Harding) Graves.
A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Howard. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of James “Satch” Simpson.
