Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Martin

MOUNT VERNON — Elizabeth “Betty” Martin, 80, formerly of Morrow County, passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, on Jan. 19, 2009.

She was born June 10, 1928, to the late Robert and Gertrude (Harrington) Hart in Quincy, Mass., and spent most of her life in Morrow County.

Betty is survived by her son, Jack (Jan) Martin of Newark; daughter, Mary (Bob) Hilton of Marengo; sister, Ruth Rhodes of Galion; grandchildren, Teresa Pruett of Mount Vernon, Clay (Amber) Hilton of Marengo, Kerry Martin of Columbus, Laura (Ron) Pack of Delaware; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Pack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Martin, in 2005; and daughter, Beverly Goulding, who died Dec. 30, 2008.

There will be a private family service.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 651 G Lakeview Plaza Blvd., Worthington, OH 43085-4774.

The Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.
