MOUNT VERNON — Jack A. Wantland, 48, of Mount Vernon died on Jan. 20, 2009, in Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was born April 3, 1960, in Mount Vernon to Jack E. and Marie S. (Hunter) Wantland. Jack enjoyed woodworking, being a mechanic but most of all spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Silliman and Michael Ray Wantland, a daughter, Lisa Wantland, his father, Jack E. and Linda Wantland, all of Mount Vernon; brother, Jon (Rita) Wantland of Coshocton; six grandchildren; grandmother, Ida Mae Hunter of Mount Vernon; aunts, Barbara George and Betty (Louis) Franker; great-aunt, Sylvia Hardesty; good friend, Jeffrey Bateman; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie S. Wantland; grandfathers, Ray Wantland and Robert Hunter; and grandmother, Edna Wantland.
Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dan Taylor officiating.
