Gladys ‘Bobby’ Amicon

MANSFIELD — Gladys L. “Bobby” Amicon, 90, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, in the ER at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

Bobby was born Dec. 6, 1918, in New Bloomington to William Otis and Mamie (Stetler) Mead. It was through her love of cycling that she met Clement J. “Tony” Amicon. They were wed Jan. 8, 1939. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2001.

Bobby is survived by her two sons, David Amicon of Mansfield and Dennis (Lisa) Amicon of Florida; a daughter, Aurora (Fred) Guarino of Florida; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marian Amicon; and a sister-in-law and very close friend, Letha Mead.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Leonard Mead, Lyda Bondra, Orville Mead, Eleanor Jane Mead, Irene Evelyn Mead and William Otis Mead Jr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, at 5 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call the hour prior.
