MOUNT VERNON — Janet M. Grubb, 79, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Country Court Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Pocatalico, W.Va., to Mary C. (Oakes) and Richard Wilton Sr. She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also had a love of quilting, but most importantly she was a mother and a grandmother who had a deep love for God.
She is survived by daughters, Alice R. (Jimmy L.) Stiles of Ashtabula, Janet M. (Charles W.) Freeman of Mount Vernon and Louise Coffelt of Surprise, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Harold and William James Wilton; her husband, Charles D. Grubb, on June 4, 1985; and a great-grandchild, Travis Crockett, who was stillborn Feb. 12, 1998.
A funeral service will be Friday, April 3, at 9 a.m. at the Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pastor Darren Shaffer will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Calling hours will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
