Juanita R. Workman

LOUDONVILLE — Juanita Ruth Workman, 90, of Loudonville died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Summerville of HillenVale assisted living facility in Mount Vernon, following a long illness.

She was born in Brown Township of Knox County, to the late Ora D. and Icie (Halteman) Workman on Dec. 20, 1918. She graduated from Danville High School in 1936. She worked for Packard Hotels as a secretary and treasurer. She was manager at Greystone Hotel in Elyria and Hillcrest Hotel in Toledo. She was also the secretary of the Greater Toledo Hotel and Motel Association. Later, Juanita worked for Hickory Farms of Ohio and also in Florida. Juanita lived in Toledo most of her life, then moved to Fort Myers, Fla., for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved crafts and singing with the Sweet Adelines Inc. in Mount Vernon.

Juanita is survived by two sisters, Pauline Conrad and Janet (Ernie) Motz, both of Loudonville; five nieces, Cindy Pribble, Connie (Greg) Beechy, Pam (Stan) Pattison, Carol Perez and Shirley (Charles) Tompson; two nephews, Tom (Karen) Motz and Steve (Beth) Conrad; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dwight Workman; and one sister, Leota Pribble.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at the North Bend Cemetery, Danville, with the Rev. Patrick Bailey officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
