Douglas McKay III

MARENGO — Douglas Wayne “Magoo” McKay III, 50, of Marengo died suddenly Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Riverside Hospital following a cerebral hemorrhage.

He was born Aug. 3, 1958, in Mount Gilead and attended Highland High School. A lifelong Marengo resident, he had worked as a framing carpenter for Larry Eley Construction. Wayne took great pride in his carpentry skills, he also assisted with the operation of the Hickory Grove Mink Ranch.

For 50 years he was a blessing and is survived by his mother, Carol “Marlene” (Brehm) and Delbert Foos; father, Douglas Howard McKay Jr.; sisters, Debbie (Gary) Fuller, Chris Kearns, all of Marengo; stepbrother, Roger (Anita) Foos of Cardington; stepsister, Karen (Harry) Keeran of Mount Gilead; two nephews; three nieces; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Shelly.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., burial will follow in East Liberty Cemetery.
