MOUNT VERNON — Frances J. Denzien, 68, of North Jefferson Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2009, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Columbus, a daughter of the late Floyd and Faye (Satterfield) Shepard. Frances retired from the Community Relations Department of Sprint. She was a member of the Eagles and the Order of Eastern Star. Before retirement, Frances was active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Republican Women and the Junior Miss.
Frances is survived by her son, Scott (Terri) Denzien of Texas; grandchildren, Courtnie, Tiffany, Timothy “TJ,” Britney, Eddie and Bradley Grubaugh, and Robyn Patrick; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jonah and Kylee Patrick and Ethan Lacey; and sisters, Frieda (Joe) Metcalf and Brenda (Russell) Hess, both of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Denzien Jr.; and a daughter, Stephanie Grubaugh.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, with Pastor Dan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
