BELLVILLE — Reta C. (Izer) Spayde, 98, of Bellville died April 19, 2009, from MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
She was born March 24, 1911, the daughter of John G. and Cora (Morgan) Izer. Reta married Harlan Spayde on Nov. 17, 1930. They were the parents of two sons, Duane and Douglas. Reta and Harlan were co-founders of the Peoples Baptist Church.
Surviving are grandchildren, Brett Spayde and Michael Spayde, both of Bellville, Kelly House of Carlsbad, Calif., Julie Wooden of Branford, Conn., and Dianna L. Flanagan of Cape Coral, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Brittany Flanagan, Savannah House, and Chelsea and Dani Conover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons; grandson, Scott Spayde; great-grandson, Matthew Megger; sisters, Florence Marietta, Dessie Stahl and Blanche Rodgers Query; and brothers, Oren Izer and Emmett Izer.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in People Baptist Church, 223 Vanderbilt Road (at Ohio 13), Mansfield. Pastor James Spencer will officiate. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
