Nora Pearl Decker

MOUNT VERNON — Nora Pearl Decker, 89, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Brooks Hill, W.Va., to Gilbert Dortha (Ramsey) Lang. She married William Hamlin, who preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1987. She later married Robert Decker, who also preceded her in death. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and nurse. She was a Seventh-day Adventist, who loved to quilt, crochet and garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Delaney of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Beverly Coulter of Bucyrus; a son, Donald (Doris) Hamlin of Germany; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nell Lang Chase of Mount Vernon and Shirley Jeffries of Massillon; and four brothers, Glen (Roberta) Lang of Marion, N.C., Earnest (June) Lang of Mount Vernon, Hartsel (Wilma) Lang of Canton and Arnet Lang of Dundee.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Hamlin; four brothers, Claude, Merle, Carl and Troy Lang; and a sister, Ruby Purtee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Rodney Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
