SUNBURY — Douglas E. Dyer, 91, of Sunbury died Wednesday evening, April 22, 2009, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born May 27, 1917, in Cadiz, Ky., to the late Annie Lee Dyer. He was retired from assembly at North American Rockwell. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes.
He is survived by son, Jim (Mary) Dyer of Westerville; daughters, Jane (Carlos) Staton of Sunbury, Melinda Jenkins of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and good friend, Mary McElwee.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where service will be Monday at 11 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Northlawn Memory Gardens, Westerville.
