Edna O. Tollison

COLUMBUS — Edna O. Tollison, 93, of High Street, Columbus, and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at The Laurels of Worthington.

She was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Sparta, Tenn., to the late George and Mary (Bussell) Tollison. Edna retired in 1974 from Continental Can in Mount Vernon. She was a past member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Sparta, Tenn.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and life-long friends, Richard and Betsy Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lois Elideridge, Verbie Massa, Myrtle Sliger, Virgil Tollison, Pleas Tollison, Sam Tollison, Lemon Tollison, Leman Tollison, John Tollison, Ova Lovins, Dovie Tollison; and close friend, Everett “Ike” Lober.

Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the Pistole Baptist Church in Sparta, Tenn., on Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m.
