MOUNT VERNON — Dorothy M. Totman, 94, of Parrott Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon.
She was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Jelloway to the late Herbert and Cora (Beam) Frank. Dorothy was employed for over 30 years at Kresge as a clerk. She enjoyed going to craft events, sewing, traveling and participating at The Station Break. Dorothy loved parties with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandson, Tyler, and looked forward to all family dinners and gatherings.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Totman of Merritt Island, Fla., and Robert (Virginia) Totman of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Terry (Lori) Totman, Tammy (Kerry) Goetzman, Debra (Mike) Nauman, Brenda Totman, Suzette (Al) Romani and Kristen (Chris) Davidson; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Earl Totman; a daughter-in-law, Esther Totman; and two brothers, George and Paul Frank.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Bob Hendrix will officiate. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dorothy M. Totman.
