Charles E. Plant

MOUNT VERNON — Charles E. Plant, 66, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Brilliant, Ohio, to the late Wayne and Evelyn (Midcap) Plant. He was a member of the Church on the Rise in Mount Vernon. Charles was a lifelong truck driver and enjoyed country music and playing his guitar. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.

Charles is survived by his wife and companion, Shirley Plant; three sons, Charles (Mary) Plant of Glenmont, John (Jenny) Plant of Millersburg and Leonard Plant of Lima; two daughters, Tammy (Everett) Southall of Mount Vernon and Cheryl (Michael Morris) Sinnett of Walhonding; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Madora (Andy) Anderson of Millersburg; and a brother, Anthony Plant.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Plant.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Charles E. Plant.

The family requests no flowers and memorial contributions may be made to the family and can be left at the funeral home.
