MOUNT VERNON — Charles E. Plant, 66, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends, went to be with his lord and savior on Sunday, April 26, 2009.
He was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Brilliant, Ohio, to the late Wayne and Evelyn (Midcap) Plant. He was a member of the Church on the Rise in Mount Vernon. Charles was a lifelong truck driver and enjoyed country music and playing his guitar. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
Charles is survived by his wife and companion, Shirley Plant; daughters, Tammy and Everett Southall of Mount Vernon and Cheryl Sinnett of Walhonding; grandchildren, Bobby Ferenbaugh and Danielle Ferenbaugh, both of Mount Vernon; three sons, Charles (Mary) Plant of Glenmont, John (Jenny) Plant of Millersburg and Leonard Plant of Lima; eight grandchildren; a sister of Millersburg; and a brother, Anthony Plant.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ira Plant.
A graveside service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Charles E. Plant.
The family request no flowers and memorial contributions may be made to the family and can be left at the funeral home.
