MOUNT VERNON — A funeral service for Evelyn L. Tucker, 79, of Mount Vernon, will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at The Vineyard Community Church in Johnstown, with Pastor Thomas Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg.
Mrs. Tucker, a homemaker, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2009, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born June 17, 1929, in Columbus to the late Frank Packard Sr. and Helen (Dalton) Packard.
Evelyn possessed the heart of a servant and has become a mother to many over the years. Because of her loving attitude and always open door. Evelyn has impacted the lives of many, earning her a countless number of friends. Her family is proud to announce that she had an inseparable relationship with her husband, David Tucker for over 60 years. She leaves a tremendous legacy and a rich deposit into the lives of those who knew her that will last for generations to come. She was also a member of The Vineyard Community Church in Johnstown. Evelyn will be missed for now, but not for long.
She is survived by her husband, David Tucker; sons, Jay (Linda) Tucker and Thomas (Janet) Tucker; grandchildren, David (Andrea) Tucker, Doug Tucker, Tracy (Pat) Samanich, Wally (Carmen) Tucker, Jason (Janell) Tucker and Lance (Tracy) Tucker; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Packard; and her best friend, Loretta Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and greeted by her son, David Michael Tucker and his wife, Judy; and two brothers, Bobby and Frank Packard Jr.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Vineyard Community Church, 10444 Crouse Willison Road, Johnstown, OH 43031; phone (740) 967-5299. Flowers can be sent to the church.
