FREDERICKTOWN — Wendell G. Randall, 90, of Sparta Road, Fredericktown, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon after a short stay.
He was born July 23, 1918, in Fredericktown to the late Edward and Sarah (Oberholtzer) Randall. Wendell worked on the family dairy farm in Fredericktown. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knox County Farm Bureau, Middlebury and Wayne granges, and Knights of Columbus Council 847 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Wendell was an original member of the FFA Fredericktown Chapter and the FFA band. He enjoyed square dancing and playing euchre in his free time.
He is survived by his children, Tom (Kathy) Randall of Fredericktown, David (Phyllis) Randall of Mount Vernon, Terry (Diane) Randall of Fredericktown, Scott Randall of Fredericktown and Jean (Steve) Wyatt of Fredericktown; 12 grandchildren, Stacey (Bret) Poland, Craig (Sara) Randall, Mary Ellen (Matt) Borland, Lynne (Jason) Morris, John Randall, Leslie Randall, Megan (Brent) Shumaker, Bethany Wyatt, Gregory Wyatt, Trent (Julie) Randall, Kyle (Sara) Randall and Tricia (Mike) Perrine; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Colopy) Randall (2003); five brothers, Howard Randall, Harvey Randall, Hoy Randall, Kenneth Randall, Warren Randall; and three sisters, Vera Tyson, Ava Robinson and Evelyn Richards.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where a Rosary service will follow. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. F. Richard Snoke will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
