COSHOCTON — Paul R. Anderson, 83, of Coshocton passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Extended Care Facility of Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Paul Reeves and Mary (Simpkins) Anderson Sr. Paul served as a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Military Policeman with overseas duty in occupational Japan. In addition to being self-employed, he had worked in paper manufacturing companies International Paper in Wooster, and the former Coshocton paper companies Hunt Crawford and St. Regis in Coshocton. Paul was a longtime member of the 1800 E. Chestnut St. Church of Christ.
On Aug. 9, 1943, he married Margaret “Peg” Whiteside, who survives along with two sons, Jack R. (Denise) Anderson of Mount Vernon and Brian D. (Judy) Anderson of Conway, S.C.; a daughter, Sandy K. Anderson of Allouez, Mich.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevis Bosson; and three brothers, Winston R., Gerald T., and Harold E. Anderson.
Services will be held Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton, with Lloyd Tenney, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson plot in the Tiverton Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Council. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Free Funeral Home.
